About Course
Self-Guided Course
Understand Your Biology. Order the Right Labs. Read Your Own Results.
A self-paced course built for people who want the same testing framework used inside the Mind Body Neurology Protocol, without enrolling in one-on-one care.
Why This Course Exists
A standard lab panel gives you a number and a reference range. It does not tell you what a borderline result means for your brain, your energy, or your hormones, and it rarely connects one result to another. Most people leave a lab review with more questions than answers, or with a normal result that still leaves their symptoms unexplained.
Ordering labs on your own carries the same problem in the other direction. Without a framework for which tests answer which question, and in what order, it is easy to spend money on the wrong panel, misread a result, or miss a pattern that only becomes visible once methylation, hormones, inflammation, gut function, and sleep are considered together.
This course closes that gap. Every panel covered gets its own dedicated interpretation lesson, with real reference ranges and the pattern-recognition behind them, not a surface-level explanation of what the test measures. You leave with a map of your own biology and the ability to read your results the way a clinician would, before you decide how deep you want to go.
What You’ll Learn
- 01Foundational Biochemistry — methylation, hormones, the reticular activating system, neuroinflammation, and the autonomic nervous system, with dedicated lessons on interpreting your own methylation and hormone panels.
- 02Core Testing Panels — intracellular micronutrient status, metabolic and blood sugar health, and inflammation and immune markers, including how to read your own Metabolomix+ and MRT results.
- 03Systems and Symptoms — gut health and the microbiome, with a dedicated GI Effects interpretation lesson, and mitochondrial function and energy production.
- 04Sleep and the Brain — sleep architecture, sleep apnea, and how sleep loss reaches every system covered earlier in the course, plus how to read a home sleep study report.
- 05Detox and Integration — toxin load and detox pathways, and a capstone lesson connecting every marker pattern from the course into one picture.
- 06Mindset and Nervous System Self-Regulation — practical tools for working with your nervous system day to day, built on the biochemistry covered in the rest of the course.
Every lab covered in this course gets its own dedicated interpretation lesson with real reference ranges and pattern-recognition. This is the difference between a course that explains what a test measures and one that teaches you to read your own results.
How It Works
You move through the lessons at your own pace. Each one tells you which labs to prioritize for that system and whether to order them through your own primary care provider or through Mind Body Neurology directly.
Once your results are in, you have two paths. Use what you learned in the course to read them yourself, or book a paid interpretation consult with Dr. Zubkov if you want your specific results connected into a full picture. A small number of panels, such as GI Effects and the MRT food sensitivity test, come with a required follow-up visit built into the ordering process itself.
This course is a good fit if you want to understand your labs before committing to ongoing care, or if you have already done a consult and want to keep learning on your own. It is not a good fit if you are looking for a personalized treatment plan. That level of support lives inside the full Mind Body Neurology Protocol.

Learn at Your Own Pace
For people interested in functional medicine courses online, the MBN Course offers a self-guided way to better understand the systems that influence overall health. The course is designed to help you build a stronger understanding of your own biology and the testing framework used by Mind Body Neurology.
A key part of the course is clinical lab test interpretation, with dedicated lessons that explain how to understand different panels and recognize meaningful patterns in your results. Instead of explaining what individual tests measure, the course provides a framework for connecting results across different areas of health and gaining a clearer picture of your biology.
